Yes, Ridgeline Aviation is a visual operation. If the weather is not good enough, we don’t fly. It’s best to not plan airline flights or other time-sensitive events around your trip into a remote location.
If you cancel less than 48 hours in advance, we expect you to pay for the first leg of the trip.

If the pilot cancels due to weather, there is no charge. We try to accommodate weather cancellations as quickly as possible. You will be fit into the flight schedule at the first available opening.
Yes, that is what our aircraft are equipped for. Most of the beaches we land at require that we land at low tide. If your destination requires a beach landing, expect that you will be accommodated at or around low tide.
Yes, dogs may fly in the airplanes if they are properly restrained. We restrict animals in the helicopter to service animals only.

Yes, you must advise the pilot. You need to have an appropriate case or holster. Guns must always be unloaded at the airport and around the aircraft. For those of you traveling long distances with your hunting rifles, we suggest you bring a soft case for traveling in our airplane. Heavy airline transport cases may be checked at the hangar and held for you until your return from the field.
The most reliable form of communication in remote Alaska is the Garmin inReach. It allows text messages to be sent and received. Satellite phones are NOT desirable; they are unreliable, unclear, and require that the party calling and answering are both available at the same time the call is placed.
